Day 1:PARO / KOLKATA ( KB 120: 08:30 AM / 9:10 AM)
On arrival at Kolkata International airport, proceed for custom & immigrations clearance. You will be met by Live India representative, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon proceed for half day city tour of this regal city. Visit Victoria Memorial (closed on Mondays), a white marble museum with its classical European architecture with Mogul influences and view its exhibits from the days of the British rule. Next, comes the most important temple of Kolkata, the Kali Temple, dedicated to the destructive side of Shiva’s consort. Proceed to the famous Chowringhee Avenue, the wide boulevard with stately mansions on one side and a huge expanse of green on the other, to the bird and the newly rebuilt flower market, vibrant and buzzing, which came into existence in 1874. Day 2:Kolkata– Bagdogra (9W 617: 12:20 AM / 1:20 PM)
Morning, transfer to the airport to board Jet airways flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, met and proceed to quaint Kalimpong (a drive of approx 3 hours / 75 Kms.), crossing the Teesta River and passing through dense forest of Teak and Sal trees. You may feel like stopping at Chitra for tea. Arrive and check into hotel. Later explore the small hill town of Kalimpong, on foot and check out the amusing local market. Hotel (Breakfast)


Day 3:Kalimpong – Gangtok (Approx drive 4 hours / 78 Kms)
Morning around 07:30 AM proceed for half day city tour, visiting the towering monastery of Zang Dog Pairi Fobrang, from where you can enjoy a great view of the entire town and on a clear day, whole range of Kanchenjunga and Bhutan peaks are clearly visible. Later visit the famous orchid nurseries. After Lunch, drive around 4 hours / 78 Kms along beautiful Teesta River to the small town of Ranipool. A 30-minutes hike will bring you to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. En route you could stop for a while at the small border town of Rongpo. The scenery is stunning with excellent views of the entire Kanchenzunga Range. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Evening explore the local Market of Gangtok with your guide. hotel (Breakfast)


Day 4:Gangtok
Morning drive approx one hour (24 Kms) to the other side of Ranipool Valley to Gangtok. Visit renowned Rumtek monastery, seat of Gyalwa Karmapa, and the head of the Kagyu-pa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Gyalwa Karmapa newly built the main monastery, in strict accordance to Buddhist architecture. Meet monks and join the prayer and chanting sessions. On the way back visit Namgyalk Institute of Tibetology with its collection of Lepcha, Tibetan and Sanskrist manuscripts, statuary and thangkas. All of these attract worldwide scholars. After lunch explore the Enchey Monastery, the Institute of Cottage Industries that is ran by the government of Sikkim and visit a flower show. hotel (Breakfast)


Day 5:Gangtok – Pemayangtse (Approx drive 6 hours / 112 Kms)
Morning, drive to Pemayangtse, founded in 1705 by Chador Namgyal, through quaint villages and scenic landscape. The lower Sikkim Mountains are full of lush green bamboo, ferns and flowers. The higher altitudes have dense forests of Sal and Teak. Continue upstream along the Rangit River. Arrive and check-in to your hotel. Hotel (Breakfast)


Day 6:Pemayangtse
Morning visit Pemayangste monastery, the second oldest monastery in Sikkim and all the other Nyingma-pa monasteries, which are located on the top of the hill of Gyalsing town (6 Kms away). From here you will have views of the Darjeeling hills and the beautiful Kanchenjunga ranges. Visit the Rabdenste ruins and palaces. This used to be the second capital, but was ransacked by invading Gorkha soldiers in the mid 17th century. Meet monks & local people. Hotel (Breakfast)


Day 7:Pemayangtse - Yuksum – Pemayangtse (Approx drive: 3 hours / 40 Kms)
Morning, enjoy an excursion to Yuksum, a drive of approx 3 hours. Yuksum is a tableland of barley and millets and provides a beautiful vista of mini lakes and Himalayan, and is also a trekking capital of Sikkim. On the way visit to the famous and holy lake of Kecheo-palri, which is also a pilgrim centre to the Sikkimese people. See the numerous waterfalls, which are worth visiting. Later arrive at ancient town of Yuksum, which means Lepcha " the meeting place of the three wise men. Visit Dubdi and chorten (coronation throne) and a few local homes before return to Pemayangtse. Day 8:Pemayangtse – Darjeeling (Approx drive: 6 hours / 72 Kms)
Morning, drive approximately 6 hours to Darjeeling. Along, the way pass by Legship, where the road diverts via the Rangit River towards the town of Jorthang. After getting your passport stamped at the border, continue uphill via the tea garden of Tukvar and Singla. The rest of the drive includes scenic views of famous tea plantations of Darjeeling. Day 9:Darjeeling
Early morning around 4 AM drive to visit Tiger Hill (4 AM – 730 AM), the highest spot in the area (8,497 ft), for sunrise views over the Kanchenzonga and Eastern Himalayan ranges. On your return to Darjeeling, visit the Ghum Monastery (Yiga Choling Monastary) that houses the image of Maitreyee Buddha (future or coming Buddha). Enjoy ride on the famous Toy train of Darjeeling, towards Ghum railway station, which is the 5th highest in the world. Afternoon explore this tiny mountain town with its Nepali population. See the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Village, established in 1959 to help facilitate the refugees arriving in Tibet. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Everest museum, which specialize on the various expeditions taken to the Himalayas and Mt. Everest. Hotel (Breakfast)


Day 10:Darjeeling – Bagdogra
(Approx drive: 4 hours / 90 Kms) Bagdogra – New Delhi (9W 601: 2:45 PM / 4:50 PM) Morning drive approx 4 hours (90 Kms) to Bagdogra and fly to Delhi: Met upon arrival and transferred to hotel The Ashok Country Resort for day use. Later around 9 AM drive to International airport to board the NW 8366 at 1:40 AM to Lax
